Mentoring sessions at the CEA annual meetings have been very well received over the years. Mentoring has been found to help women in the economics profession and in particular, the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) mentoring program, CeMENT, significantly increased publications rates and successful grant applications (Blau et. al, 2010).
CWEC/CFÉC will be hosting a hybrid mentoring event during the 2022 CEA meeting, with participants being able to join either in-person or virtually. These events will bring together senior economists, junior economists, and students to discuss topics such as publishing, teaching, grant writing, networking, job searching, career paths, and the tenure process.
Register here if you are interested in participating the in-person or the virtual mentoring event as either a mentor or a mentee.
