Robert Mundell Prize

The Canadian Economics Association awards the Robert Mundell Prize of $2000 to the "young" author or authors of the paper judged to be the best paper published in the Canadian Journal of Economics in the previous two calendar years.

Winner 2022

The winner of the 2022  Mundell Prize is Alex W. Chernoff for the paper “Firm heterogeneity, technology adoption and the spatial distribution of population: Theory and measurement", published in May 2021 (Volume 54, Number 2, pages 471-943). 


Harry Johnson Prize

The Canadian Economics Association awards the Harry G. Johnson Prize of $2000 each year to the author or authors of the paper judged to be the best paper published in the Canadian Journal of Economics in the preceding calendar year.

Winner 2022

The winners of the 2022 Johnson Prize are Olivier Fortin-Gagnon, Maxime Leroux, Dalibor Stevanovic, and Stéphane Surprenant for their paper "A large Canadian database for macroeconomic analysis" published in November 2022 (Volume 55, Number 4, pages 1799-1833).
