Childcare Options During the 2024 Conference in Toronto

On-campus Daycare 

Due to the lack of interest, the on-campus daycare option has been removed. 

Off-campus Individual Childcare 

For off-campus individual childcare, we have our preferred service provider, Imagine That Family Care. They are a team of Childcare professionals with Degrees in the field of Education that provides childcare services.

About the child care providers (CCPs) and policies: 

  • All the CCPs hold a University Degree or College Diploma in a child-related field. They have extensive experience working in education and caring for children.
  • All CCPs have up-to-date Standard First Aid/CPR training and have been thoroughly and personally interviewed and screened; this includes a vulnerable person police check and professional background check.
  • Frequent hand washing during the duration of care is encouraged 
  • CCPs are open to use a non-medical mask or face covering if requested
  • CCPs remove their shoes up one entrance 
  • CCPs will not be sharing food. They will bring their own snacks/meals.
  • CCPs will bring sanitized age appropriate, educational toys, games and/or books.
  • CCPs will tidy up after the activities they experience with the child/children.

TMU Rates

  • $35.00 per hour for 1-2 children, $37 per hour for 3-4 children
  • $37.00 per hour for adolescents, adults and elders.
  • Minimum request is 3 hours
  • Short Notice requests (6 hours or less) $37.00 for 1-2 children and $39.00 for 3-4 children. $37/hr for adolescents, adults and elders.
  • $25.00 parking fee
  • Statutory holiday rate is calculated at time and a half of the regular or short notice rate.

Payment 

  • Payment is accepted through etransfer, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.  The care providers do not handle cash for safety and insurance purposes
  • No tips, gratuities or gifts please. We welcome Google reviews!
  • A $25.00 fee is applied to all invoices that start before 8:00AMor end after 11:00PM.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice will be charged a 3 hour cancellation fee
  • Billing is done per half hour.

 

Please note that the daycare option is a service provided by an external company. The Canadian Economics Association has no affiliation with the service company and assumes no liability for the daycare services.
