About The Annual Conference The Annual Conference is the flagship event of the Canadian Economics Association. Held each spring, it features a dynamic program of State of the Art Lectures, Special Sessions, and academic presentations. Hosted by a Canadian university in a vibrant Canadian city, the conference brings together participants both in-person and online to share groundbreaking research, build professional connections, and engage with thought-provoking keynote speakers. CEA 2025 The 59th Annual Meetings of the Canadian Economics Association is hosted by the Department of Economics at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) from May 29th to May 31st, 2025. The CEA Embrace Day special events & workshops will be held again in-person on Thursday May 29th (all registrants can attend). Regular contributed in-person sessions will take place from May 30th to May 31st, 2025. A day of online sessions will take place on Friday, May 23rd, 2025. The programme chair is Huw Lloyd-Ellis (Queen's University), and the local organizers are Professor Marie Connolly and Professor Charles Séguin Hosting A Future Annual Meeting If your university is interested in hosting a Future CEA Annual Meeting, please send a letter of intent to CEA Secretary, Professor Ana Ferrer at aferrer@uwaterloo.ca. The CEA strives to move the annual meeting across Canada with a typical rotation among the major cities of Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. However, locations outside of this rotation are selected as well. The Future Meetings Committee of the CEA Board of Directors will review proposals each year and provide a recommendation to the Board of Directors for approval. Local Organizer A local organizer is approved by the CEA Board of Directors and receives support in the form of a course release, research funds, or stipend with a maximum amount set by the CEA Board of Directors. Administrative support will also be provided. Host Universities are also encouraged to contribute support to the local organizer and to the local organization.
