Embrace Day Graduate Posters Awards Starting in 2023, the Canadian Economics Association began Embrace Day to promote inclusivity in the economics professions. Embrace Day activities include (but are not limited to) media training workshops, mentoring and networking events for graduate students, and keynote lectures. Every year since, the CEA invites a selected cohort of graduate students to present their research posters throughout Embrace Day. A dedicated committee awards two prizes: 1) Best Paper and 2) Best Presentation, which are presented to the winners at the Presidential Address. Congratulations to the 2025 WinnersThe Award for Best Poster went to Aashay Tripathi (University of Calgary) for “Impact of Residential Schools on Educational Attainment of Indigenous Women: Evidence from India”. The Award for Best Presentation went to Joseph Scarfone (University of Waterloo) for “Brewing Innovation: The Growing Role of Coffee Shops as Third Place Infrastructure in Innovation Clusters, A Case Study in Waterloo Region".
