CEA 2027

The 61st Annual Meetings of the Canadian Economics Association will be hosted by the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University on Thursday, May 27-Saturday, May 29, 2027. 

An Online Day of Meetings will be held virtually on Friday, May 21st, 2027.

Programme chair is Professor Audra Bowlus (Western University) and the local organizers are Professor Christine Neill and Professor Justin Smith at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Submission portal will open Dec 1st.

Conference Programme will be forthcoming in spring of 2027.

Student Travel Grants

Please submit your registration form and travel grant application before the deadline of March 15th, 2027. Application information forthcoming.

  • Important Dates and Deadlines

    December 2026 The programme chair starts accepting submissions of papers for presentation at the conference through the web interface.
    January 31, 2027 Last day for prospective special session organizers to contact the program office for booking blocks of sessions.
    February 1, 2027 Advance registration for the conference commences.
    February 13, 2027 Deadline to submit your paper or abstract.
    March 13, 2027 Last day for travel grant applications to be submitted to the CEA.
    March 24, 2027 Last day for notifying paper submitter on the acceptance or rejection of their paper for presentation.
    April 3, 2027 Last day for presenters to register. Presenters must register by this date or lose their conference program slot.
    Mid-April The preliminary program is expected to become available.
    May 3, 2027 Early registration ends and late registration fees apply thereafter.
    May 4, 2027 Last day to withdraw and receive a refund (full refund minus a $100 administration fee). After this date, the registration fee is non-refundable. 
    May 21, 2027 Online session day.
    May 27, 2027 Embrace Day sessions.
    May 28-29, 2027 The in-person sessions for paper presentations.
